So, I'm pushing it a little for fluid, but melted chocolate will have to do :) The fairy was an idea for a project and didn't get used. I thought she was kind of sweet. She reminds me of Spring. I'm finally feeling somewhat better and busy, busy trying to get caught up.
melted chocolate!!! :P
ReplyDeleteEven fairies can't resist.
I love the pink wings.
thank you so much Ana
Deleteshe is a beautiful fairy, Karen,
ReplyDeleteshe looks sweet as hot chocolate
but if it reminds you of spring time, she is sweet as chocolate ice cream :)
Hope you have a good weekend (which is already close) and thank you very much for your visit, you are always, always!!! very nice to me
thanks!!!!!!!!!!
thank you Roberto. You are always kind to me too :)
DeleteLovely picture, really cute !
ReplyDeletethank you trudette :)
DeleteShe is sweet, and I think melted chocolate works just fine (actually, chocolate in any form is just fine ;) ). Cute illo!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree Elizabeth, any kind of chocolate is fine with me too. ;)
DeleteThis is one of the nicest pieces that I've seen so far this morning. I like your controlled, whimsical drawing style and soft washes.
ReplyDeletethank you Bron, that is very kind of you :)
DeleteOoooh Karen! I love this style of yours. Do more like this. There is a certain retro feel to it. Melted chocolate!!! Well, yeah! Who can resists that! Just as long ast it does not melt in your hands or your pocket!!! At least on the hands, you can lick your fingers.
ReplyDeleteCes, you are back!!! I really have missed your beautiful self. Yes, melted chocolate in the pocket is never a good thing ;) Myles tried to sneak a piece of chocolate with no wrapper, just the square, in his pocket to school one morning. Of course he then had to tell me that he had chocolate in his pocket, but he had on pants with many pockets. It was like a harried game of hide and seek trying to find it before the bus pulled up.
DeleteHahahahahah! I love Myles. He is a constant source of excitement. What a lively child!
Deleteyes, he certainly is ;)
DeleteVery sweet...in more ways than one. i love how the clouds create the frame.
ReplyDeleteoh, thank you so much Ms.Moffatt, you are very kind and I appreciate your visit :)

Junko

ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better!
thank you Bella :)
ReplyDeleteThe pens at the airport: Not scan them one at a time but I had to gather all of them and they had to put them in a separate bin to scan. Then they manually inspected them and opened the caps.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny. Thank you for the visual. I can just imagine them inspecting each pen. I'm sure it was not all that funny at the time though.
DeleteShe's so cute, Karen!! I don't know about you, but Valentine's Day went by and I'm still stealing some moments with chocolates hidden in the cupboard. Now, melted too?? Ugh. Temptation, temptation.... :))
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are finding time to steal moments with a chocolate or two Amalia. You deserve to pamper yourself a bit :)
Deletethanks Monica

ReplyDeleteyou are so sweet and uplifting Shirley, thank you :)
DeleteYeah? You like black oak? :)
ReplyDeleteblack oak, white oak, oak oak... ;) and of course any oak you choose to draw!
DeleteHey Karen
ReplyDelete:)
well for an angel she has a truly wicked grin on her face, it must be the chocolate! It's like the apple i n the Garden of Eden - but instead it's a chocalet in Heaven. and here I am my mouth watering while I type! The colours are beautiful in this, all aery and angelic and soft.
Very fluid! I'm glad you are feeling better. Spending St Valentine's day with a fish sounds like enormous fun. I think I will try it myself next year!!
see you soon :)
PS your son's drawing is a ripper. He has talent! See it IS genetic!
ANDREW!!! you are back :) I hope that your vacation was fabulous and that you are well rested. ummm and not tooo sunburned ;) You were missed. oh, and thank you, thank you for the gracious complements. Cyan will very much appreciate it.
DeleteChocolate will do nicely. I hope that sweet little fairy won't eat it all at once. Adorable illustration.
ReplyDeleteShe is so delightful Karen. I love her expression and hairdo! Thanks for sharing this!
ReplyDeletethank you Jack! :)
Delete..cute fairy! very well done!
ReplyDeletethanks Anil, I hope that you are well.
ReplyDeleteHeya Karen, watchaupto? That's my new lingo, I received a kindle for Chrissie and am learning to text :) hah, that will be the day!
ReplyDeleteAfter three sentences I would have to go to the hospital to get them to unravel my thumbs ....
Well, I bet you are cooking up something - hopefully an illustration or two :) see you soon!
Well, thanks for the giggle Andrew. You never fail to make me smile. Unravel your thumbs... that's a great visual. I hope to post something new very soon. The day just slips away. Before I know it the day is gone and I've posted nothing new! Ahhh, maybe by the weekend, I hope. I'm illustrating and doing the layout on a cookbook. It has a lot of black-line drawings, it's 200 pages and I'm only about halfway through it. It sucks up a lot of time.
ReplyDeletewell 200 pages! how do I make an icon where my eyeballs are popping out! But your halfway through :) It's wonderful that you are doing this. It will be great to see.
ReplyDeleteI can post some of the line work. It's kind of old school filigree ad stuff on about half of the pages. Plus there are several spots used repetitively throughout. The rest is all graphic design stuff. It just takes gobs of time :) Your' eyes shouldn't be popping out, you spit 200 pages of awesome illustrations out fairly frequently. ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, thank you, you're always so kind
ReplyDeleteThere are a thousand beautiful moons, I do not think mine is so beautiful as you said :), is just one moon more, surely! :)
Thank you very much!
good weekend!
Well, I think she is a very beautiful moon :)
DeleteHi Karen! Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead..I'm always so happy to see your kind visits. : ) Hope all is well in your world!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful week, as I am late in responding to you ;)

DeleteSoooo cute! She does look like Spring! What a sweet pose.
ReplyDeleteawww, thank you Krista. I obviously have let time slip by and need to post something new!!!
Deletehya Karen :) Boy you should be up to page 196 and a half by now :) I have a spot for you at our next jogging party - !! Ahh I only jog out of vanity actually - the trick is to run for as far as you can then turn around - and realise that you better run back, otherwise you will miss dinner! Called compulsory exerisize !!
ReplyDeletesee you!
ha!!! I wish... I like your compulsory jogging idea, maybe I should give that a try. There is no back home for dinner on the elliptical, just back up the stairs on wobbly legs after ;)
ReplyDeleteHey we have an elliptical - it makes a nice sculpture :)
ReplyDeleteyes, I have to admit that at times, mine isn't much more than a decoration...
DeleteYes, she is very sweet! Is this a digital painting? Watercolor? Nice work! Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your kind words!
ReplyDeleteyes, it's digital, thanks so much Lynette
