I am finally done with my entry for this weeks Illustration Friday prompt Clumsy. It only took me all week to do it. Oh well, at least I kept the promise I made to myself to not miss a week for six months. I had trouble with this one and had a hard time finding time to work on it. Just one of those weeks and one of those illustrations. It's not my favorite one but, I don't hate it either. Thanks for visiting and for taking the time to leave feedback.
Uh-Oh! Great action, textures and what a sweet little dog! I think she's determined-- she'll get right back up again. Love the colors too!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Really captures the essence of the word. You even captured the cute clumsiness that's so typical of the way puppies move!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is over my shoulder right now going oooooh and ahhhh over your work. Me too!! You are soooooooo darn gifted and talented it's just crazy!! How fantastic! I feel like I just fell down. Great composition and color as well.
ReplyDeleteYay you made it! Great job Karen, I always love the way you portray kids, so geniune. I love her expression, the colors, and the loyal puppy cheering her on - bravo!
ReplyDeletethank you ladies, I appreciate it so much, now if I can just do the new one without it taking and entire week this time :)

ReplyDeletesorry I haven't been around!, nice work on this one. My bottom is sore just looking at how hard that ground is. Maybe the shadows under the skates could be a little darker to anchor them? Love the face expression and the puppy adds another dimension.! Great work on the pavement texture.
cheers

Oh, Karen! I've had one of those weeks too - and wow, this is a great illustration for clumsy..it says it quite well. I love the positioning of your character and the sweet pup. You are one hard worker and I admire your determination..I agree, I've made a pact with myself to not miss an IF for as long as I can...(but I didn't give myself an end-point)..so hope this keeps going! Good for you for 6 months straight!!!
ReplyDeleteOoops, sorry,I didn't say it quite right. I haven't made it 6 months yet, that's my goal. I've only kept the promise to my self so far in my attempt to not miss a week.I think I've been doing it for 3 months so far, but I'd have to go back and look. Thanks to both of you, and Andrew you are right about the shadows, I had them darker but once I finished the pavement they sort of disappeared. Something else to go back to.
ReplyDeleteFour months of IF's with out missing a week! I started in October. Just two more to go! Maybe I will try for longer...
