Something New
I'm finally posting something new. This was going to be my post for Illustration Friday last week, but I didn't get it finished. Pretty ironic considering the theme was "Early". I haven't been able to get much done for the past several weeks, but now that school is out for the summer I hope that I will be able to make up for lost time in the next few months. Time to get serious again. I have joined a critique group and have several new pieces I'm working on for my portfolio. I am also still working on my recipe piece. Things are taking me much longer to get done right now. Just too much going on I guess. Maybe I'll even get my IF entry done this week. Wish me luck! Thanks for visiting and thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it! Reading what you have to say makes me smile.

Hya Karen. nice to see you on board again. Life gets in the way of our 'work', doesn't it? Well, it's a mixture...
ReplyDeleteHey well this is just superb. It's funny but also so surrealistic. How you have pared to not quite an essence, but to the details that are necessary to give us something to discover,- the little still life, but also the curtain.
cheers
hope everything is settling :)
How absolutely FUN this is Karen. Look at that stance, that expression, those ROLLERs! love it! I'm really enjoying this whole feel...very fun. I sure hope things calm down for you a bit and that your new critique group brings lots of inspiration and good feedback. They are luck to have you! Thank you for being such a great friend out here..and sorry i've been away for so long!
ReplyDeleteYour picture is really funny. Do you draw it by hand? What program do you color with? Thanks for your comment on my page.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, I do not think is so important to finish an illustration for IF.
ReplyDeleteThe important thing is to put it in your blog
because we know that your works are very good and come to see it and leave our comments.
For me this work is very good, congratulations.
Thanks Andrew, Shirley and Roberto! Nic, I responded on your blog but I will list it here also in case you check back. I use a wacom, corel painter x and photoshop.
ReplyDeleteAah, you are cracking me up with this, Karen. This lady is such a brutal portrait of a suburban middle aged housewife and it looks like that rooster has just awakened the dragon inside her! (^____^) ox
