IF_Hatch

Illustration Friday prompt for this week is Hatch. I had started with just the dragon hatching but someone else was faster than me so I put him in my daughter's hands. Well, she's based on my memories of what she looked like at that age anyway. She would have loved a pocket dragon when she was younger. She probably would love one still. She could hide him in her pocket and take him to class.

  1. we ALL would love a pocket-dragon, Karen! Awesome illo -- that smile on the dragon is priceless! How're you enjoying reading "The Notebook?" (I really liked the film version, despite the sad parts, which haven't left me) ...

  2. It's one of my favorite books ever,I've actually read it twice. Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas is also really wonderful. Sad but really beautiful.

  4. Sweet! I love the faces, the hair and the texture on the rock! Have you read "Dear John" by Nicolas Sparks? I cried all the way through. I don't mind that (in a book) though.

  5. Thank you both. I did read Dear John, loved it too, the ones on my shelf are just my favorites. I actually have read most of his books. He's a very talented writer. Krista, I was sorry to hear about your "spoiler". So sad when that happens.

  8. Love the tender touch and care in her eyes.

  9. All of the above. The lesson for me is in the contrast of the rock texture/the girl in contrast with the soothing sky.

  14. Lovely! A pocket dragon what a lovely idea. My BFF in high school would bring her pet gecko to school in her pocket.
