Hansel and Gretel WIP

I was working on this for Will Terry's blog challenge. The theme was Hansel and Gretel. It was due, last week on the 8th. I just couldn't find the time to finish it by the deadline. Bummer, but I thought it was worth finishing and I like to finish what I start when I am able, so I'm posting it. Which will further ensure that I take the time to finish it. I am only getting to work a little here and there right now, but Christmas break starts Friday. YAY!!! I am so looking forward to some free time. Although my stove is being replaced and I still have lots of Christmas baking to do I plan to spend a good part of my free time creating. So, while Myles naps I plan to draw, draw, draw and the baking will have to happen in between while my little helper is awake ; ).  Thanks for stopping by and especially for all the kind comments on my last post. You guys are great! I really appreciate it and love reading your comments. Happy Holidays!!!

  1. Hiya K.H.! I hope you'll have fun drawing and baking away... Now, this image is superb. You know why? Because you did the cottage FIRST. Just about the best part out of Hansel and Gretel!! I think, anyway.

Can't wait to see it finished! (^_^) oxox

  2. Haha well I am getting hungry looking at the cottage. Maybe I am Hansel? I think he ate the windows, or was it a piece of the roof? Good you are finishing this one.!

  5. Nom nom nom nom! Now see, I'd be in BIG trouble here. That can't be anything more than a sweet little old lady offering up yummies like a good hostess. Right?

Beautiful work! Aww, too bad you missed the deadline, but you are right. Definitely worth completing! The colors on the house are wonderful, as is the shading on their faces.

YAY for more drawing time! YAYYYYYY!

  6. Awwww, thank you Bella. I'm usually very good at due dates it's just that my priorities have been on other due dates these days. I can't wait to finish it; I'm painting in between baking ;)
and of course it has turned into to a bigger, more complex piece than the original idea, because it has "taken on a life of it's own". Maybe I'll be finished in say a month past the date it was supposed to be done by. LOL

  9. Hello and I was foll0wing Roberto :)

Oh well I am enamoured of the people in this, I can see you working your way through the image, building it up, lushifying it. The finished bits are superb. It's going to be very intersting how you tie it all in and I'm looking forward to seeing it.

And Merry Chrissie from me too. It's been a wonderous year, eh. Here's to the next one! Holds up glass of pretend champagne.

    Salut!
