Fred the Praying Mantis

Just a short post of a quickly done painting of a praying mantis I did for my best friends daughter. Happy Easter!

PS.  I am having so much trouble posting images from CS5 online or sending them in emails. I keep getting server rejections and having to shrink and shrink it again.  It's like it is saving them so much larger than it says it is, but then the last time I did a thumbnail for IF it ended up pixel-ated before it would let me post it.  I am not sure what the problem is and it is so aggravating.  Anyone else having this problem?

Sorry about the file problems. Wish I knew how to help.

  6. Hiya K.H.! So happy to see you posting a new work... I'm not the biggest fans of flying insects, but this guy here looks super cute. How I wish all insects look that friendly. Maybe then I wouldn't runaway every time I see one crawling near me. (^_^)

  8. Hya Karen, well I never saw a smiling mantis before, it's wonderous how you managed to make this fellow look so cuddly!! I think I will keep my teddy bear for the cold nights though.

    Good to see you posting!
I can't help with the posting images thingy.
Are you saving for web and saving as Gif. It's very much smaller for the same quality as far as web goes.

Maybe you could try Chrome for your browser. It solves some problems I have with internet explorer.

  9. Yeah only because that is the only format I have had any success at posting with. The others all get rejected by the server unless I save it to a zip drive, move it to the PC, open it up in photoshop and resave it there as a jpg or gif. Only when I did this one I couldn't open the file on the pc at all. I'm not sure what it is doing, but it is not saving them properly. It's really frustrating.

  14. Hi Karen. I have not heard about anything like what happens to you, hope you can solve.
Thanks for your comment. you are very kind to me.
The mantis in my country is called "Tata Dios"(Something like "Father God") because they say, that if you ask him: "Where is God? The mantis turns his head toward the right side.
    Goodbye, thanks for stopping by.
