My son asked me to illustrate a whale with wings and a crown.  I decided that I liked him and wanted to reuse him, so I recycled him.  Thanks to a few good friends, (you all are so wonderful) I am pretty happy with him now. It was a fun piece to work on.  I did this one in photoshop start to finish.  I usually use painter then photoshop. It worked well for this one, but I don't think that I will give up on painter completely.  I'm just a little frustrated with it at the moment. Thanks for stopping by, I enjoy your comments and visits.

  1. Hya Karen, happy Friday :)

Well didn't this turn out beautifully? The texture overlay on the whale adds a wonderful undersea lighting, especially on the belly. It's a fun work, with lots of elements for the viewer to ponder and admire. Your son has good taste, eh?

    have a wonderful weekend !

  6. For me it's a good job, very well done, and the idea of a whale with wings I feel great, congratulations to your son!
Do not disappointments, the disappointment for an artist must serve as a starting point for a new job. is the engine that drives the ideas.
Thank you for your words, I'll give you a big, big tree!:)

yes, Amalia, it is from the tie dye, it's been my favorite texture and pattern lately, I'm sure I've gone overboard but they are all so unique and fun to use.

  10. Oh Love,
I know what you mean about the singing and all. My parents where both singers and musicians and my sister and learned to sing and harmonize before we were 4. Weird I think, but they made us do it and then because we came from a churched background , our grandparents always had us singing for some church service somewhere. Now I am grown and I hear my baby girl singing with the WII game programs, she doesn't know that I am listening, but I am so proud and happy that she got the pipes too he he he he he! I promised that I wouldn't push her like my parents did, but I do so love to hear her sing. This girl got it honest! Just like your daughter. Now my little nephew is another story. He wants to sing so badly and he is doing much better, but he is going to need a few lesson LOL!!
Hope that you are under some air condition.
    Big hugs to you
    OXOXO

Hope you're creating and enjoying some well-deserved time off. : )

  31. Ah yes, the guilt card works wonders Andrew. Now I must find something to post!
Shirley I'm so glad you have time to paint! I so wish I could find more time for it. I thought with Myles in school I'd have several extra hours a day, but I just can't get in the groove. I'm working, just not as much as I'd like, or as much as I need to. ;)There is just so much to do. I need my day to be twice as long, but unfortunately I have to sleep.
