Here's another peak at what I am working on. It's turning out to be a really fun project. Sorry that I have been so quiet. I am just working away after being sick for a couple of weeks. My grandson started pre-school full-time this year and he has set out to catch everything he can and then give it to me. It's a gift I'd prefer not to get, but apparently my immune system really doesn't care what I want. ;)
Thank you for all of your kind comments. I really appreciate it. You all are really wonderful :)
Karen, hi,
ReplyDeleteWell, I hope you take care of yourself, and
enjoy your grandson, as it should, with love♥
Your character looks wonderful!!!.
I am sending you a kiss.
Me too :)
ReplyDeleteWell this little fellow is so likable and cuddly he just wants you to pick him up and give him a big squeeze I think. I hope you are feeling better and that Blender is your friend :) You can start to give me lessons when Blender is your good friend! I look forward to that.
see you :)
Awww, and kisses back to you both :) Blender is not my friend yet, but it is not my enemy any longer either, so that is progress I guess. This weeks project is a creature, I may have to show it to you when we are done just for giggles.
ReplyDeleteHeisann!

So sweet little boy!
Crud on the crud!!! I remember those years. We are now required to get the flu shot or else we have to wear masks throughout the flu season. The illustration is absolutely darling. You know what I love??? His mouth!!! Aaaaaaawww!!! So adorable. Stay healthy. Thank you for your kind words. Tsup!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ces, I'm trying, my body is just not cooperating ;) I'm so glad you like him, I love his mouth too. I wonder why, it is so simplistic. Hugs Ces and a Tsup to you too!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is very cute. I love the character design and the pattern on his shirt is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou asked on my blog, how I liked Painter 12. I LOVE the new watercolor brushes, but there are other things I don't like about it. It seems you can no longer scale or transform a floating selection that you have selected on a layer. Now you have to cut the selection and paste it in to a new layer. If you don't, you end up transforming the entire layer. Also, I had it crash on me every time I tried to use the Woodcut effect. I like the new interface layout, but I don't like that they've grouped some of the brushes together, giving them the same icon, for example charcoal and conte now share a single icon, which makes it harder to distinguish which brush you're selecting when you make a custom brush palette. There are still a lot of things I'm discovering about it. The new watercolor brushes almost make the purchase worthwhile. They look and flow much more realistically and they are much faster to paint with.
Thanks Vincent, good to know that about the watercolor brushes. I haven't tried the new ones yet. It crashes on me, often. I tend to use too many layer for it sometimes which is why I tend to take it into photoshop earlier if it's a large file. The newest one however, tends to crash more often with any size file. I'm not sure what the issue is, because my other programs run fine. Just a painter thing I guess. It gets frustrating sometimes. I wish they'd fix the crash issues. I hadn't noticed the float issue, I usually cut and paste into a new layer when I am making adjustments. Have you tried moving the float layer up higher in the layers menu? Just curious, it seems as if when I use to use float more, that I use to drag it up the layers menu and it becomes a layer of its own, then you can collapse it again when you're finished if you want to or rename it and leave it separate. Of course this is pretty much the same thing as clipping and pasting into a new layer. ;)
ReplyDeleteNow there's a cute little character! It was great to see your sketching process in the post below too. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteLovely character:)
ReplyDeleteHeeheeheee, I just love him. I wants to nibble his ears! nom nom nom
ReplyDeleteAw geez, those germs. Well just think. You are building a robust immune system. Sorry to hear you were under the weather. Stay well!
:) you all are making me smile (:
ReplyDeleteLooking fabulous, Karen! He really is adorable..you are on a roll I tell you! And sorry to hear about the germs...take good care of yourself, and hope your grandson is enjoying preschool! : )
ReplyDeleteHello again, I love the shoes and the cute knees. So adorable.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better. Tsup!
ReplyDeletethank you Shirley and Ces. Myles loves preschool and so do I with the exception of the immunity challenges it brings. lol I am feeling somewhat better Ces. I just hope that I can stay well for a little while ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better! These are so cute and so sweet! Nice simplicity and colors!!!!
ReplyDeleteKaren - your recent revisions to the book look super! I love the addition of the kitten, and you know what? I like the version of the kitty playing with the bubbles from the side of the tub..it activates that space in a fun and playful way..but that's ok, don't worry, the one on the tub is adorable too. I agree with Andrew re: the picture frames (tone), just to slightly decrease them would be perfect. overall, such fantastic sweet work! Thank you for your always so kind visits and happy Fall to you!!
ReplyDeleteLast year, I was sick every other week, I swear. It was the first year the girls were in preschool. Hopefully, my immune system is beefed up because I don't want to go through THAT again!
ReplyDeleteNice work on your above illos. Inspires me to get back to my own projects. I've been distracted with painting house walls.
thanks Stacia. I hope it won't be every other week but it sure is feeling that way right now. LOL House painting, definitely not as much fun as digital painting :)
ReplyDeleteThis is WONDERFUL!! Such life in his little face. It's great! I love the color palette as well. Lovely work.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have time to make the dolls in paper mache so I ordered paintable blanks from Amazon. So they are just blank nesting dolls. Nice soft wood. I will let you know how they turn out. Pray girl. Hope that you are doing well Sweetie. I am a little under the weather right now, but all is well.
Big hugs
V
thank you Miss Vanessa, I can't wait to see those dolls :)!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Mama! Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope that you are having a wonderful weekend.

Hello cutie pie face again. I love his little chin and curls.
ReplyDeleteKaren, I know that Bella was thinking of sauteed mushrooms and fried earthworms but to warn, those are Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms.
Have a great Sunday!

Ces, I'm not sure what those are, but my guess is that I don't want any ;)

ReplyDeleteOooh, I love him! He looks so sweet and well mannered...just my kind of kid! Hahaaa...
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what your mean about those unwanted school souvenirs, Karen! I just hate it when my kids come home with sneezes. Always a red flag after that. Take care, ok? oxx
ya'll are awesome!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better. Putting too many kids together always seems to result in too many germs. Very cute character!

Hey Karen! Happy Halloween to you too. Oh we almost have it in Oz. Over the last few years we have had kids banging on the door - I didn'yt answer it last year, because we never know whan Halloween is or what it signifies, a few years before I had to promise t drop some lollies over to the kids houses - which I did. The parents looked at me a bit oddly.
ReplyDeleteThis year I will give them milckshakes of chicjen liver and molasses. apparently that's very good for you :) I am sure Myles will look perfect as Max :)
Je me suis vraiment régalée en visitant votre blog... aussi permettez-moi une prochaine visite...

Hello beautiful! What are we going to eat today? Hehehehe!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately for me, I made amaretti cookies for my grandson. They are his favorite and apparently mine too. Well, actually the whole family had no problem eating an batch last night. I was supposed to send two dozen to school on Monday so today I made a double batch. I'm not sure there will be any left by Monday though :O !!! I'll send you some virtual tiramisu, it won't hurt your mouth;)
ReplyDeleteHahahah. Thank you very much! Oh yes, I am doing coffee again. I am weak, very weak. I cannot resist. Besides, I have so many Fiesta mugs that needed to be used... :) Yum. Thank you for the virtual cookies.
ReplyDeleteand now I am making yellow Lentil's with handmade hunters sausage, organic veggies and stock that I have been cooking all day. It smells wonderful ~~~ I'm sending the fragrance your way ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yum. I am having an avocado smoothie right now. Tastes good!
ReplyDeleteNext time I am going to the oriental store, I will buy packages of bihon for you. They are also called rice vermicelli. They come from the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan. I will send you some to you.
ReplyDeleteYour comfort choices are fabulous!!! Sounds so fabulous and delicious. Okay I know where to come and visit now he he he he he. Big hugs to you my sisterfriend.

Hi Karen, thanks for stopping by. Well, between the flu and work I went several days. thanks for asking.
ReplyDeleteYou like the animation? thanks, it's a nonsense to bring joy to my blog ...
You all make me smile. Thank you Ces, you are too sweet. It's such a beautiful meal. :) We found some rice noodles, but they weren't right. They were too fat, but not wide enough for Pad Thai. :(
ReplyDeleteVanessa, you are close enough honey, just come on over and we'll cook up a wonderful meal :)
Roberto, so glad you are feeling better :) The header is fun and the painting is awesome!
