IF Sky

Instead of singing "rain, rain go away",  Lizzy and Arabella wanted it to keep falling from the sky. Playing in puddles is just too much fun :D

My son's favorite days are rainy days. I love the rain too, as long as I don't have to drive in it, and as long as it doesn't last for days on end, because my yard becomes a small pond when it does. ;)

Illustration Friday's prompt this week is sky. I've been having a bit of a dry-spell with personal work. I have started illustrations for the IF prompts for the past three or four weeks without finishing one or even posting a sketch,  so, this is a carry over from water.

Yay, I finished it. Now I need to go back and do the other ones that I started...

  1. when I was young, loved and unexpected torrential rains of summer, especially when we were in the swimming pool, but we left it only because my mother said: "Get out of there, could be struck by lightning in the water"
Now I like the rain at night while I'm in my bed.
    Wonderful illustration, Karen, congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. OH MY GOSH!!! A POST! A POST!!! I had Puddle of Crumbs withdrawal! Heheheh! So glad to see a new drawing from you and of all things, raincoats. Oh my. I love rain boots and rain coats. As a child I always wanted to have rain boots, we were too poor to have them, though we had rain coats and umbrellas, Hehehehe. This is a darling illustration. I love their expressions. Aaaww, that poor dragonfly! You know, I think I will buy a pair of rain boots. Hah!

Thank you so much for your visits and comments, Karen. You are such an awesome friend. Hope you are well. TSUP!

    1. Yes, A POST, A POST!!! I have surfaced :) Yeah, rain boots are the best, I never had them as a kid either but I always wanted them. I did however, have a red umbrella and I loved puddles. Now, every time I walk over one I'm tempted to wade through it ;)

...and You are to welcome my sweet friend. XOXOXO

  4. Greetings Karen! "Ello Ces, Hi Tony et Roberto :) Just like hanging out at the pub but my sleaves aren't sitting in the beer at the bar :) Not that they ever do cause I don't wear sleaves :) and I don't go to the pub Oh and the art is pretty good here .. heh, nough sillyness. Wowza Karen you have fallen right into the groove - beautiful and so much fun. The compostion leads us around the image (leads us :) and we can just put ourselves in this place - and still feel nice and warm fuzziness (courtesy of the beer I guess ) Hhe, the dragon fly is a great touch.

I think with this one you have placed us back in our childhood Except we had galoshes :)

Nice to see you back in action. I can put my whip back in the cupboard!

    1. Yes, hopefully I can stay above water at least for a little while ;) I'm so happy that you approve. You and Ces really brought a smile to my face yesterday. I've had this thing lately where I do lots of sketches but don't get any further because all I can do is see what I don't like about it without even giving color a chance. My little crit monster has been strong.
Hopefully I've shoved him back in the closet for awhile.

  8. Hooray you finished it and it is adorable! I don't always go back and finish things, but sometimes I do. Or sometimes I forget about it and then find it a month later and finish it with a new perspective. :)

    1. I have sketches that I have forgotten about or never felt that they were worthy of color. Sometimes I'll find them and think oh, I should go back and color that... but often times I just move onto something new. Thanks so much for your visits and kind comments Cindy. I really appreciate it :)
