IF_Train

Did you know you could train a cat to follow you around? Well, Izzy did. She trained her kitten to follow her everywhere she went. It might have had something to do with the rabbit pull toy.

I finally found time to post a little something. I can't remember the last time I did Illustration Friday. It's been awhile since I've posted anything. I'll have to get myself back into the blogging habit. I've been trying to stop by everyone's blogs, not as often as I'd like to, but whenever I have a few minutes. I hope you are all well. I've been busy working on a few jobs plus my son and I are trying to finish up the school year. He's a junior now. One more year! I can't believe he's seventeen. Soon I'll have to find something else to keep my brain young. ;)

  1. Oh Karen!!! I am so delighted to see a post from you. This one is especially sweet. Her face is gentle. She displays a certain aloofness but also cleverness. I like her smile. So busy indeed. I hope you manage to pamper yourself once in a while. Take care. Tsup!

  3. Hi, Karen! very beautiful illustration!!!!
is nice to see your work, never forget us, we always want to see your work!

ah, the kids grow... but they always keep us young, we should not see that we get old, they are our contact with everything new that happens in the world.
we must harness their energy :))
    good week for you!

  4. Never fear--there will be plenty for you to do to keep your brain young. When I was taking my older son to college for the first time, at the parent meeting, we were told emphatically to GET A LIFE, and when I told my son that, he laughed, and said that shouldn't be a problem for me. But do enjoy this last year. It really truly will never be the same.

This picture is very very sweet.

    1. Oh, I know there will always be plenty to do and I have my five year old grandson who is blind to take care of. I will never be bored. Just absent minded ;) It's just sad to have my youngest getting so close to 18. We are so close. I just can't imagine not being with him everyday... But it's the way it should be of course.

  5. Well now, I just put my whip back in the draw (I have a special set of drawers with all different sized ones) But seriously, hey, this is back to the old Karen, I see that it works on several different layers - all good ones. The texture on the dress is zinging :) And everything just the right amount of lovable and cuddley. Not too much, just right! Now I hope you are back at the drawing board trying to guess what next week's IF prompt will be so you can just magick one up.

See you! Good luck with the projects and great to see you posting again. !

    1. Well, how did I not reply to this? I thought that I did. Must've done it in my head ;) Keep the whip handy. I may need it. Although I have a new drawing board. I got a cintiq last week. I've been wanting one for years. I've been drawing like a mad woman! Ha, now I just need to post some of it on a regular basis.

  6. Ok, the bunny is following the girl, and the kitty is following the bunny, and now I am following the kitty. Choo chooooo!

Hooray! I'm so glad to see that you found some time to play! This illustration is so sweet. I love how the little girl is so confident in her caboose that she's not even checking to see if it's still following. :)

Thank you, dear Karen, for the hugs and spare parts you sent me a couple of weeks ago. They were greatly appreciated and must have done the trick because now, especially having seen your work, I want to play too! xoxo

I miss you so much. I have been dealing with deaths and works and traveling and posting on Facebook and I miss my blogging and blogger friends. Facebook is nice and all, but I miss what you are up to with your beautiful work. Hopefully I will be able to come and around and blog some more. Sending you big hugs!

  12. It HAS been ages since you posted to IF! But this was a month ago so apparently it's been ages since I stopped by. I completely understand the whole, time passing by and not enough time to post and visit. I do hope you'll find some time to post more!

This is a completely darling little illustration! That tiny rabbit toy and the cat are super adorable! And I love her bright pretty skirt!

I hope you also have some time to yourself for your own fun things. By the way, my daughter is absolutely into tie-dyeing! I'm sure I spelled that wrong. Anyway, boy, I know you're the pro. 1. You are so sweet Shirley. Tie dying is kind of addicting, but messy... I'm working on a couple of books and can't seem to find the time to post anything new. I also went to LA for a week to visit with my sister for the first time since my youngest was baby and he's turning 18 in August! Summer will be over in a blink. I've got to make myself get something new up this week!!!
