My daughter is taking a drawing class this semester, so I thought I would post one of her drawings. She's majoring in Political Science and minoring in Chinese, so it's just the one class, but I love to see her drawing. She is a very dedicated student, goes to school full-time and works two jobs. She's pretty amazing; I don't know how she does it all and she does it all very well! Yep, I'm proud. Thanks for visiting, especially to those of you checking in even though I haven't been posting as often. Sorry, I'm still getting used to high school work again! It's 6:00 pm and I am still sitting here working on prep for tomorrows work. It get's better, I just have to get back into the swing of things. In the mean time I am missing my Wacom!
Wow! Karen..that is a strong and striking illustration..your daughter is talented! My goodness, she is so busy, as you are, too. It is wonderful to hear of your pride for her. I hope you get through your prep so that you can get back to the Wacom! Thanks so much for your visit and thoughtful comments..I'm really enjoying reading each one. Take good care, Karen!
ReplyDeleteOh what a great work. Just so talented, isn't she? Must be in the water heh :) Just kidding, I'd say it was a genetic predisposition combined with a wonderful early home environment...
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you posted this as it reminds me of a conversation I had with an art student who told me they collaged a lot of eg yucky anatomical stuff over not anatomical stuff
I like your daughter's version better, especially with the screwdriver
PS I started this post an hour ago - but my part time job got in the way :)!!

ReplyDeleteWell, I'm never underestimating the power of genes, ever again! So. I suppose when they say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, it doesn't only refer to personalities? Clearly your daughter is a very talented apple, just like the tree! (^_^) -hugs-

ReplyDeletecool! I hope she'll keep up the good works :)
ReplyDeleteyou and your daughter are amazing. I feel lucky to see this, the drawings is beautiful, the composition, the light, and the surreal little finger! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful drawing! Way cool that she's doing that. What are you teaching at the high school? Art? (I teach English, and am completely overwhelmed at the moment--very little time for making art, which is driving me crazy.)
ReplyDeleteOOOh Girl!! I see where she gets it all from. My goodness how fantastic and innovative as well. This is simply fabulous work. I wish and pray all the very best for her. She got it honest! he he he he he! Oh this must make your heart sing with pride. How magnificent is God that He would in his mercy and love for us, give both mom and daughter such awesome gifts of art and illustration!!!!! This is awesomeness. Thanks so much for your fabulous support KH. I'd hug and kiss your face if you were near. Thanks for cheering me on. Nobody really know how hard this was. It didn't happen over night either. Many tears and why's and rejection. Lots had to happen before this ever came into being. I'd gladly do it all again if this would be the out come. God is great! Then the icing on the whole cake is very special people like YOU! Hugs to girly.

ReplyDeleteWell, Karen, of course your daughter is a multifaceted woman.

But these are other times. They are neither worse nor better, different.
Moreover, it seems, she is very good artist!
