WIP_ what I am working on

This is what I am currently working on, it's for Monday Artday and I should be done with it already. I'll see if I can get it finished before the deadline, today. It's for the prompt Castaway and was my son's idea for a previous prompt. I can't even remember which one now. Anyway, I haven't been able to spend as much time on it as I would have liked so I'll keep whittling away at it and maybe I'll make it. I haven't even decided what to do for IF this week and I got accepted for Watercolor Wednesdays and would love to do something for my first post there.  I know, seems like a lot but I am trying to push myself to create more quickly and still maintain quality and style. And it doesn't hurt to spread your work around either! Thanks for visiting, for all your wonderful supportive comments and for helping me to stay motivated. It's been over a year now that I have been drawing everyday, over six months of posting on IF without missing a week and over six months of blogging. Yay! Oh and check out the 12 week challenge on Zero 2 Illo, Thanks Justin (justin segal's blog) for posting about this.

updated:  I finished, just in time too!
and yes, he is a pirate mouse, on a soap bar raft, floating in the bathtub, as my son described him to me. Silly and fun!

  2. Hya Karen, its good to take on more than you can chew... unless it becomes like work! The mouse in the sailor's uniform (piratical?) is a good image so far, charming in fact, - I have painter x, any recommendations good tutorials to start with?

  3. The best advice for painter x is to play with it, that's how I learned it Andrew, but if you want any specific help you can email me and though I am no expert I will help if I am able. I love, love, love it! I didn't find a lot of tutorials for it, unlike photoshop. I really use it in very much the same way that I paint or draw in reality. The blending brushes are really wonderful and so are the real brushes. I do change them to suit my needs though. But it is pretty straight forward. The only thing that doesn't work realistically for me is the watercolor element, but I do use it, I just usually have to work with it a good deal more to get the look that I want. Hope this helps!

  4. Thanks Karen, it is good advice. I found a forum for it once actually that seemed to be a good place. But I haven't had the time to get dirty with it yet :) :)

  13. EEEK! A mouse in the tub would definitely freak me out. But this one's so smartly dressed...and if he let me be the one to eat the fudgsicle for him, then....arrrrrrggghhh, ahoy there! Great rendering on the tub, too!

Wow, you are so PRODUCTIVE and DILIGENT! I am envious. Keep at it!
