IF_Shadows

I had hoped to get finished with another piece that I was actually doing for IF this week, but alas, the week is nearly over and I am not done with it. I upgraded to painter 12 and there is a learning curve I've got to get over with the newest tools.  Everything is taking me three times as long as it usually does. So, I am posting this instead.  It was a challenge for a critique group that I am part of. Funny, they went pretty quickly. The other piece, I have actually been working on, on and off, since IF's Safari. :o,   maybe I'll be able to get it up soon. Thanks for stopping by and as always, thank you for all of your kind comments.

  1. Hi! This is my first time stopping by your blog. I have to say that your illustration really appealed to me. But then again, I have a fondness for toasters - particularly toasters that have cute faces. :)

Best of luck with Painter 12. I've been considering learning how to use digital tools but can't seem to give up my brushes and pencils. Oh, one last thing. I just had to click on your husband's BBQ forum. I believe I'll be coming back to both your sites.

  4. Heya Karen

Oh these toasters are great. They are each so unique and full of caharacter. Err they are also full of character :) It's so wonderful how you made them all different and have given us enough toasters to 'peeple' a play. I can just see it up on Broadway "The Toasters that Ate Arizona" :)

But seriously, this has obviously been a superb exercise and you have pulled it off sweetly.

PS I think Sunday is the big day for our first Grill :) I must visit your husbands forum and raid his recipies.

    see you :)

  5. Oh Karen! I love these toasters. They are so cute! You know something? You just gave me an idea. I think I will pain our toaster, maybe do a landscape painting on it or draw a fat person to remind me not to eat a lot of bread! Hahahahah!

  6. Oooo... I would LOVE to have a living toaster! Maybe that way I could tell it not to burn my toasts!! These are so adorable, Karen, I'll bet they're dying to give you some friends...coffee makers, perhaps? :))

  8. You all are so sweet. I am hoping to get over the painter learning curve quickly. It doesn't help that I have been busy with other things and am out of practice.

  9. I like the aqua green or blue toaster the best.
I hear you on the program updates. Drives me crazy too when they add and move all the pallets all over the place.

  12. Awww, aren't these so CUTE! Oh boy, they would sell out in a heartbeat at William Sonoma. I would love to have a little friend like this greet me each morning. Nothing crumby about them, hehehehe. Do you remember that animated movie about the Brave Little Toaster?

Hope things go well with Safari. Your work is worth the wait. :)
