I had hoped to get finished with another piece that I was actually doing for IF this week, but alas, the week is nearly over and I am not done with it. I upgraded to painter 12 and there is a learning curve I've got to get over with the newest tools. Everything is taking me three times as long as it usually does. So, I am posting this instead. It was a challenge for a critique group that I am part of. Funny, they went pretty quickly. The other piece, I have actually been working on, on and off, since IF's Safari. :o, maybe I'll be able to get it up soon. Thanks for stopping by and as always, thank you for all of your kind comments.
Hi! This is my first time stopping by your blog. I have to say that your illustration really appealed to me. But then again, I have a fondness for toasters - particularly toasters that have cute faces. :)
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with Painter 12. I've been considering learning how to use digital tools but can't seem to give up my brushes and pencils. Oh, one last thing. I just had to click on your husband's BBQ forum. I believe I'll be coming back to both your sites.
Aren't these the cutest little toasters? Love the faces and the retro details! :o)
ReplyDeleteI love them all - awesome toasters!
ReplyDeleteHeya Karen
ReplyDeleteOh these toasters are great. They are each so unique and full of caharacter. Err they are also full of character :) It's so wonderful how you made them all different and have given us enough toasters to 'peeple' a play. I can just see it up on Broadway "The Toasters that Ate Arizona" :)
But seriously, this has obviously been a superb exercise and you have pulled it off sweetly.
PS I think Sunday is the big day for our first Grill :) I must visit your husbands forum and raid his recipies.
see you :)
Oh Karen! I love these toasters. They are so cute! You know something? You just gave me an idea. I think I will pain our toaster, maybe do a landscape painting on it or draw a fat person to remind me not to eat a lot of bread! Hahahahah!
ReplyDeleteOooo... I would LOVE to have a living toaster! Maybe that way I could tell it not to burn my toasts!! These are so adorable, Karen, I'll bet they're dying to give you some friends...coffee makers, perhaps? :))
ReplyDeleteThey are fantastic Karen! I see your personality in these! : ) I hope you had fun doing them cause they look like you did and they came out whimsical and full of personality! I hope you crack that Painter app swiftly - new programs are a bear but I know you'll tackle it in no-time! Hope you've been well!
ReplyDeleteYou all are so sweet. I am hoping to get over the painter learning curve quickly. It doesn't help that I have been busy with other things and am out of practice.
ReplyDeleteI like the aqua green or blue toaster the best.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the program updates. Drives me crazy too when they add and move all the pallets all over the place.
Talk about warm personalities! he he he he he! Those babies are the toast of the town! How did you know I love toasters? This is soooooo cooollll! I know it's been a minute or so. I had to crawl out from under my creative stone and give you holler. I'm still here on the plant. Not raptured just yet he he he he he! Anyway, sending you the warmest toastiest wishes ever!
ReplyDeleteMiss you something awful!

Awww, aren't these so CUTE! Oh boy, they would sell out in a heartbeat at William Sonoma. I would love to have a little friend like this greet me each morning. Nothing crumby about them, hehehehe. Do you remember that animated movie about the Brave Little Toaster?
ReplyDeleteHope things go well with Safari. Your work is worth the wait. :)
oh I definitely remember "The Brave Little Toaster", it was my son's favorite movie, I think we watched it everyday for a month or so!
