Progress

So they still have floating heads and I'm not completely happy with the guy on the left yet, but it's progress. Maybe after I finish the color I will feel differently about it. It's just at the oddly floating elements stage right now.

  2. Karen, I missed your post yesterday - but I love this! The softness and the boys' exressions are fantastic! The rich blue background is also great. I think once you change the color and render his shirt, it should be fine. As far as I can see, there are no errors in the postion of the guy on the left. The only thing I could think of is to maybe experiment with taking out his right thumb or pull back so his hand shows a bit more like the guy on the right. Can't wait to see your next step, it's really fun to see your work in progress!

  3. Thank you for leaving me a nice comment. Yours reminds me of one I was working on few months back. Glass jars are tough! Good job on yours!

  4. I enjoy seeing your progress as well, Karen. Wow, you're great with faces, this is so impressive. I think that this is coming along very well - (though I still prefer the image with just the one child..just my 2¢.) I think what happens for me is that the focal point is now shifting back and forth between the two faces. It could definitely just be me! Anyway, you are clearly working hard and it's looking great and I look forward to seeing how you progress..the mood is wonderful!

  6. I am kinda feeling the same way Shirley, but I will finish it before I decide whether to just take it back to a single child or not. I wanted to do two because I have such a tendency to do just a portrait, rather than a scene. I'm trying to push myself to do groups and multiple expressions. Maybe I am just not where I need to be with the placement. We'll see. Sometimes things work well and other times they don't but it is all good practice. I've got it saved separately so I can take the first boy out if it is much stronger without him, which will likely be the case unless I can find a way to pull it all together. Thanks as always for the input everyone, it really does help to have other "eyes" to really see a piece.
