I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store- I'm sure it's great! And it's still Thursday here! Hee hee! :o)
I think it's gonna be great! I already like the composition and the lazy like posture of the princes.
What a beautiful bedframe! Somehow it won't "click for big" but I can tell anyway that this is going to be magnificent!!
Thank you Michele, Leen and Krista, I don't know why it keeps doing the business about not letting you click big. I just have to delete it and re-post it. I've been having trouble with that and the thumbnails for IF since I installed the newest Adobe Creative Suite. My thumbnail ended up being crazy blurry because it kept saying it was too big to post.
Wow! I can see a masterpiece in the works! Great start Karen! Your eye for detail is extraordinary! Great take on the topic! Thanks for posting :o)
Oh, Karen! I am already in love with this. I can smell a new favorite brewing. I LOVE this fairy tale. And what a fantastic, fantastic bed. The trees are so cool! Her very relaxed posture and expression are spot on. Such a nice touch to have her dangling her crown over the edge. And the dog! Wow, what a great pose on that one! Love it!
I want that bed for sure!!!! Oh my goodness. Like Bella, it's not even finished yet and I know it's going to be awesome. I love this. You have out done yourself even with the sketches. Great illustration. Love it. Thanks so much for stopping by and I am glad that you found sometime for yourself to do this project. Keep going girly. Can't wait to see the rest of it.
awwwww... ya'll are so sweet :)
Great start! I'm with everyone else in loving the bedframe and the princess' pose. I'm sure it will come out great. Love the orange balloon illustration too.
I cant wait to see it finished. I love the bed frame and pose.. I don't think y last comment posted, so please forgive me if it magically appears and I have 2 comments
thank you Linda and Collette :)
Wow, Karen...this is turning out wonderfully...you're tackling a BIG illustration and I know it will become one of your finest. She has a great pose way up there on top! I look forward to seeing the finished piece.
soft and delicate and ethereal - apart from that I like it :)Just kidding, it's great, wonderful compostion, the framing arch of the trees. looking forward to the end product. Now no slacking off !
argggh, slacking off eh? I've been working on catching up on school work with Cyan all day... we missed two days last week for the Bodies Exhibit and an exhibit on Mythological Creatures and we are ever so far behind now... We were working until 1:00 am and now all day today too... so tired... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, and I still have so much more to do... I want to paint... :(
Ooooh This is most excellent! Where can I get a bed like that? Your know Edmund Dulac illustrated something with a bed so high, I always thought that must be so much fun to have one of those!
Looking wonderful so far, Karen!
It looks great!I'll wait to see it finished:)
Sooo cool! I love the transparent curtains too, very nice effect. Great work!!
boy this is a perfect concept for layers, didn't even occur to me! I like how it's building. Near symmetry is a good approach too.
Wow! It's coming along brilliantly, Karen! I think your curtains are beautifully illustrated, but I'm leaning towards keeping the image unobstructed even with the fine curtains..I don't know why (it may be personal preference). Can't wait to see the finished piece and how you're going to handle the background, Karen! : )
This is lovely, very dream-like :) I love the delicate shape of the trees and the different mattress textures
thanks everyone, I'm definitely going to lighten the curtains at eh very least and maybe just get rid of them altogether...
well the curtains are exquisite actually, but you are right they are taking away from the thrust of the image. Pity, you have done a magisterial job on them (whatever magesterial means :) )hope everything is going okay.
thanks Andrew, things are about the same
This is VERY eye catching! I love the curtains personally.
OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!!! This is so beautiful, Karen! This is magnificently rendered. I love this one very much. It is coming along so beautifully!
WARNING! This bed is too high. Roll over and SPLAT!!! Hahahah! Thank you for your visits and comments. Tsup. Oh here's a nut!
good idea, I think I'll finish this and use it for warning! You're so smart Ces, you and Jack save me when my brain doesn't work.
THIS illustration is sooooooo Fabulous K! Oh my gosh how excellent! I even love the curtain, but I rather see her there trying to prove that she is a real princess! She must be seen. When the folks start calling for orders on the bed then you can show the option with the curtain! I want that bed!!!! So very well done and designed my friend. Your sweet words just made my morning. Thanks so much for stopping by. I'm glad you had a chance to smile!Big HugsV
Karen, this is a very good illustration, I congratulate you. I apologize for not coming earlier. And I want to say thank you for your comment. I want you to know that for me is very rewarding when someone tells me that what I write or design he liked. It is an honor indeed. Thank you very much.
Awww, thanks Vanessa, and thanks for the smile too! Thank you Roberto, no apologies necessary! You come by when you are able. :)
AAAAAHHHH! I LOVE the curtains! LOVE them, I tell you! Every little princess wants the curtains over her bed. Even big princesses. :) And the patterns on the mattresses are divine! My goodness, they look very soft and floofy, too. 16 ninja brothers! Whoa! It must have gotten quite crowded in his room! Your story made me laugh.
Thanks Bella, my daughter and I were reminiscing about this again tonight. It's a priceless memory, I love it.
Hehhe! Karen! That's because you don't have a serial problem! I am a serial inker and painter. Hehehe!
This is really lovely Karen, great composition and i love the sheer draped fabric:)
Back again! This is marvelous work! I could lose myself in these layers, so cozily! Obviously, I'm no princess- hee hee!Looking forward to seeing the next step revealed! :o)
Is that girl still in the bed????? Either she's sleeping on a really good Mattress or she's just lazy. he he he he he he he! It's your Buttercup just stopping in to say thanks for stopping by and leaving your wonderful comments. You made my morning. I just came by to make yours. Have a wonderful day today. You deserve it!Big Hugs to you .V
You all are so sweet, I've got to get this thing finished. I've been preoccupied with with computer issues and illness in the family. I need Java for school and can't get it to work anymore so I've been spending all my free time trying to find the issue so I can fix it.
sweet as you! and you're so clever with the tree frame, i love it!xo
I can't even imagine how you do this! All of a sudden I got intimidated by Painter and just STOPPED! I got bogged down in the idea of creating my own brushes and was in over my head. I want to go back, but for now I'm back to the old trusty Winsor and Newton Series 7!
How about a little blue bird in the nest?
Hi Krista, I really don't use many special brushes, I just have a few favorites that are standard, though I play with the settings sometimes, When I first started using it I messed around more with the brushes than I do now. I was thinking of adding a few little birds, and maybe trying to do something a little different with background. I just haven't decided yet and I haven't had time to go back to this one in days, maybe today's the day to get it finished :)
Very nice work!!!
LOVELYYY, so dreamy and catchy !, please keep the curtains, it's is so much better :)
This is lovely, Karen!
..karen ,this is so lovely..nice composition..waiting to see finished piece..
Is she still in the bed????? Tell her it's my turn now. She can go and sleep in the hammock outside he he he he he! Hey Girly, Thanks so much for you sweet and encouraging words. Oh how they touched my heart. I so appreciate you taking time out of your busy world to leave me such kindness. I really do. I send you great big hugs. V
Awesome that you are doing so much for Japan, Karen!! Absolutely cool..I will need to check out your tie dye efforts!! Always so good to hear from you and I hope you and yours are well!
oh i sure do love this :) very special and the curtains are perfect!
Heisann! Very beautiful, sweet and touching ;:OD)
